Rajasthan Bikaner, Jodhpur and Nagaur lots, auctioned at the Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar mandis, feed the Jodhpur splitting industry and the Texas frac-fluid supply chain via Mundra. Gujarat Banaskantha and Haryana Hisar seed goes to food-grade gum processors. Pakistani Tharparkar and Bahawalpur guar ships Karachi to GCC feed mills and Free Zone re-exporters.
HG-365, RGC-936, whole seed and guar splits: grade decoder
HG-365 is a Haryana Agricultural University release selected for endosperm share, so splitters pay for it by code. RGC-936 is the Rajasthan standard cluster bean, earlier maturing and the bulk of mandi arrivals. HG-563 is a later Hisar line with better yield. Splits are sold by endosperm purity and husk carry-over, not by variety.
Guar COA language: galactomannan, moisture, protein, ash, viscosity on splits
A whole-seed guar COA states purity 98 to 99 percent, moisture below 10 percent, admixture, and galactomannan on dry-matter basis. Splits add endosperm percent, protein and ash. Where a processor wants a downstream check we report gum viscosity in centipoise at 1 percent solution after 2 and 24 hours, plus a Non-GMO declaration.
Who buys guar seed: gum processors, frac-fluid suppliers, feed compounders
Guar gum processors in Jodhpur, Ahmedabad and Karachi buy whole seed or splits to mill food-grade powder for ice cream, sauces and gluten-free bakery at 3,500 to 6,000 centipoise. Oilfield service suppliers in Texas and Oklahoma take high-viscosity industrial grades. GCC and EU feed compounders take whole seed and guar meal as protein.
Guar seed transit from Karachi and Jebel Ali to Jeddah, Mombasa, Houston
Pakistani guar loads FOB Karachi and reaches Jebel Ali in 4 to 6 days, Jeddah in 8 to 12, Dammam in 7 to 10 and Mombasa in 14 to 20. Hamburg via Jebel Ali runs 21 to 28 days. Indian lots for US processors sail Mundra direct to Houston in 25 to 32 days.
Guar seed FOB, CFR, CIF pricing and the NCDEX rig-count link
We quote FOB Karachi, Mundra or Jebel Ali plus CFR and CIF destination on RFQ. The Bikaner spot and NCDEX guar-seed futures set the daily base. Galactomannan percent, whole seed versus splits, monsoon arrivals in October and the Indian export levy each shift the number. Pakistani origin sits within a few percent of Indian.
Guar QA flow: galactomannan assay, sample approval, supervised FIBC loading
We courier a 2 kilogram guar sample with the origin galactomannan and moisture assay so the processor can run a trial split and viscosity test. Written approval opens the proforma against LC at sight or TT advance. FIBCs are filled and lot-coded under our supervisor, with SGS Karachi or Bureau Veritas inspection on request.
Guar seed container math: 25 MT 20-foot FCL, 40-foot HC, LCL
A 20-foot FCL takes 25 metric tonnes of whole guar seed in 50 kilogram PP bags or 22 tonnes in 1 tonne FIBCs. A 40-foot high-cube tops out near 26 to 27 tonnes on road-weight limits, so most programmes run multiples of 20-foot boxes. LCL trials start at 5 tonnes through Jebel Ali.
HS 1207.99 guar seed import compliance for USA, EU and Saudi Arabia
US entries under HS 1207.99 clear CBP with USDA APHIS phytosanitary inspection, and food-grade processors file FDA prior notice with FSVP records. EU importers need the origin NPPO phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate and, for food use, a CHED-D on TRACES. Saudi feed mills clear SFDA and MEWA feed-import registration with an attested invoice.

- Whole seed, splits, or guar gum — what is the difference?
- Whole guar seed is the raw cluster bean for food, feed, and seed multiplication. Splits are dehulled cotyledons (the two halves separated from the husk and germ) — the upstream feedstock for guar-gum manufacture. Guar gum is the milled, hydrated polysaccharide powder. We ship whole and splits; the gum itself is downstream of our trade.
- What galactomannan content should I specify?
- Specify 28–32% galactomannan on dry-matter basis for industrial gum extraction; 20–25% acceptable for animal-feed grade. Indian Bikaneri / Hisar varieties typically test 30–32%; Pakistani Multani 28–30%. The COA includes galactomannan, moisture, FFA, and admixture. Lots below 26% are downgraded to feed-grade pricing.
- Why does guar pricing fluctuate so much?
- Guar is the primary feedstock for hydraulic-fracturing fluids in shale-oil drilling. US oil-rig count drives global demand; the 2012–2014 boom pushed Indian guar futures 4× higher than 2009 levels, then collapsed when frac-sand replaced guar gum partially. Plan procurement against the Bikaner spot market (NCDEX guar-seed futures) and lock LC pricing 60+ days against vessel ETA.
- Can you ship guar to Texas / Oklahoma directly?
- Yes — Karachi or Mundra direct to Houston, transit 25–32 days, delivered Houston Ship Channel. Most US frac-fluid buyers prefer this routing to avoid the Indian export levy stacking. Guar-splits volumes typically 5–20 FCLs per quarter to Texas / Oklahoma processors. We quote CIF Houston, FOB Karachi, or DAP Houston Container Terminal on request.
- Is GMO guar a concern?
- No — guar (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) is conventionally bred only; no commercial GMO guar exists. Every shipment carries a Non-GMO declaration in the documentation set. Some buyers also request a glyphosate-residue test which we run on request through SGS Karachi or Bureau Veritas Mumbai.
